Madhu Tanjorkar

Madhu has been performing extensively across UK and abroad. She is one of the principal musicians of Tarang, one of the national Indian classical music Orchestra in the UK and has been composing and creating music for both Orchestral and non orchestral groups in UK.

She conducts  music classes both group and one to one in various locations across North West England where she teaches Vocal, Violin and Keyboard in both Hindusthani and Carnatic styles. She also teaches on Skype for students across the world.

Uk based violinist and vocalist with a classical training from India. Madhu was inspired and initiated into the world of music by her father renowned violinist Guru Shekhar Tanjorkar.

Madhu is a medical graduate and has incorporated both medicine and music into her very busy schedule which demonstrates her passion and commitment. She is one of the rare and few lucky ones to simultaneously learn  both major sub genres on Indian Music - Hindusthani (North India) and Carnatic (South Indian) music. From her very tender age Madhu was trained in the Gayaki style of Hindusthani while she got mesmerised by the Gamakas in Carnatic style. As an open minded musician , adaptability and creativity are her biggest assets which drives her to learn more and grow with musicians of various genres.

Madhu has a strong lineage of musicians which has been traced to over 30 generations of Gurus in her family tree. Guru Janardhan Tanjorkar and Guru Kubernath Tanjorkar being her immediate Grand Fathers and Grand Gurus.
